Job Description

Sun School Bali offers a vibrant and nurturing learning environment for primary students, fostering a sense of community and wonder. We are currently seeking a passionate Primary educator who is dedicated to igniting the curiosity and creativity of our young learners through purposeful, creative and holistic learning experiences.

Our educators cater to a wide range of student learning styles and needs, with a particular focus on emotional intelligence, creativity,  mathematics, literacy, and integrated project-based learning approaches. The educator embraces the holistic, student-centred approach, which focuses on nurturing not only academic growth but also the artistic, emotional, and social development of each child. The educator is enthusiastic and dynamic in their teaching, willing to collaborate with our primary teaching team. Position Criteria

Qualifications: Obtains the required educational qualifications of a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education or a related field, as a minimum requirement.

Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of five years of professional teaching experience.

Emotionally aware: Possesses a keen understanding of emotions and the ability to empathize with students, creating a supportive and emotionally responsive classroom environment.

Effective listener: Listens attentively to students' concerns and feelings, fostering open communication.

Promotes emotional intelligence: Encourages the development of emotional intelligence in students, helping them understand and manage their emotions.

Creates safe space: Establishes a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing their emotions.

Resilient: Models emotional resilience and adaptability, helping students cope with challenges.

Self-Awareness: Demonstrates self-awareness and emotional regulation as a positive role model.

Supportive and Encouraging: Provides emotional support and encouragement to help students thrive academically and emotionally.

Effective Assessment Approach: The educator demonstrates strong organizational skills in overseeing, evaluating, documenting, and communicating student learning outcomes. They use comprehensive methods for monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting these outcomes, guaranteeing a comprehensive and all-encompassing holistic  evaluation of student development and achievements.

Expertise in holistic curriculum: Proficiently employs, explains, and develops holistic or other non-traditional curriculum models, including comprehensive class planning.

Passion for Sustainability: Possesses a deep love for the natural world and a firm commitment to sustainable living, both personally and professionally, aligning with Sun School's values.

Effective Communication skills: Receptive to feedback. Demonstrates strong communication skills and actively listens to and welcomes feedback from the teaching community. This means being able to express ideas clearly and being open to input and suggestions from colleagues, fostering a culture of constructive feedback and continuous improvement within the teaching community. Additionally, they are a positive, confident, and professional communicator who can have important conversations when needed, promoting a supportive and authentic learning environment.

International teaching experience: Ideally, has prior international teaching or working experience.

At Sun School Bali, educators are responsible for:

  • Integrating environmental education into the curriculum, teaching students about sustainability, conservation, and the importance of protecting our planet.

  • Fostering a holistic approach to learning that addresses the intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of each child.

  • Encouraging students to develop a deep connection with nature through outdoor learning experiences and environmental projects.

  • Integrating mindfulness and well-being practices to help students cultivate self-awareness and emotional resilience.

  • Cultivating a sense of community and collaboration among students, emphasizing teamwork and empathy in environmental stewardship.

  • Guiding students in understanding and practicing principles of social justice and global citizenship.

  • Encouraging creativity and critical thinking in exploring solutions to environmental challenges.

  • Developing and implementing innovative, theme-based, experiential, and skill-focused learning programs aligned with Sun School Bali's educational principles.

  • Creating inclusive lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of all students.

  • Providing personalized instruction through small group and one-on-one sessions to support every student's learning journey.

  • Accurately maintaining student assessment records.

  • Adhering to the daily routines and guidelines established by Sun School Bali.

  • Advocating for and embodying the mission, vision, and values of Sun School Bali.

  • Engaging in consistent and clear communication with families and caregivers.

  • Leading or contributing to after-school activities and fulfilling supervisory duties throughout the academic year.

  • Participating enthusiastically in Sun School Bali's community events and serving on school committees as required.


Sun School Bali Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education or a similar area.

  • Need at least 5 years of teaching experience

  • Cannot have any criminal history (required by law).

  • Should not have any child protection issues from past schools or jobs.

  • Must show original certificates, transcripts, and degrees (required by law).

  • If hired, must be ready to learn and use Bahasa Indonesia.
