*We welcome four-year-old children into our program, ensuring they are emotionally and physically prepared for this significant milestone towards independence from their parents.
At Sun School, our Class 1 program serves as an extension of home as children are gently led through a warm and nurturing day that includes plenty of outdoor time, free play, and positive adult role modeling. As the day progresses, children engage in structured yet relaxed days where they not only learn from teachers but also from each other in a secure setting.
Each day follows a consistent rhythm, beginning with a morning circle where children express their emotions and ending with a closing circle where gratitude is shared, fostering a sense of community. Our curriculum is designed around the understanding that children learn best through play and imitation, with a significant portion of the day spent outdoors.
Our teachers focus on nurturing children's creativity and imagination through storytelling, music, outdoor play, and artistic activities, laying the groundwork for future academic learning. Activities such as clay and beeswax, puppetry, and nature walks are integrated to develop motor skills, memory, language, and scientific curiosity. Academic skills are developed through hands-on experiences rather than traditional lessons.
Class 1's daily timetable includes activities like morning circle for emotional connection, creative play for imaginative development, artistic activities for self-expression, outdoor play for physical and social growth, and various subjects taught through multidisciplinary methods.
At Sun School, we prioritize fostering imagination, freedom, and a deep connection to nature and spirit in our educational philosophy. We invite children to embark on an enchanting educational journey that sparks curiosity, nurtures creativity, and cultivates a profound appreciation for the world around them.
The emphasis in class 1 is developing skills through experience. Here are the experiences and brief descriptions of what we offer in class 1.

Each day, this morning circle supports a sense of belonging, empathy, and emotional awareness, nurturing a supportive and harmonious atmosphere for the day ahead. Within this circle, special moments unfold during our class's meditation, yoga, songs, and teacher-led story sessions. These activities not only build memory and promote calmness but also expose children to the beauty of language, fostering crucial literacy skills. The incorporation of yoga and meditation aims to instill mindfulness and emotional regulation, creating a positive and focused learning environment.
Creative Play Time
Unfolds in an atmosphere that seamlessly blends purposeful engagement in the room or outdoor space. Play is a significant endeavor for children, and during this time, they immerse themselves in imaginative activities using a diverse array of natural toys and materials, including creative play with the natural environment, such as flowers. Learning within this dynamic space, children develop their imagination, fostering social interaction with peers and honing problem-solving skills. Exploring the natural world enhances their sensory experiences, contributing to a more profound understanding of the environment. As they engage in creative play with flowers and other natural elements, children also learn the satisfaction of carrying tasks to completion, cultivating a sense of accomplishment and creativity that extends beyond the immediate playtime.
Artistic Activity

Learning through this activity extends far beyond the strokes of a brush. It encourages a natural sense of beauty and color appreciation, laying the foundation for future artistic exploration in later grades. The focus here is not solely on the outcome but on the individual journey, allowing each child to express themselves uniquely.
Snack Time
This is a nourishing pause, fostering social connections and energy renewal for students.
