Morning Circle

The day commences with a morning gathering, where children are encouraged to express their emotions and thoughts.This daily ritual of coming together cultivates a profound sense of unity, empathy, and emotional mindfulness, creating a supportive and harmonious ambiance that envelops the day ahead.

Language Arts

In Class 4, students continue to discover into the world of literature, expanded word types, writing composition, grammar, vocabulary & spelling. This exploration is enriched through the lens of mythology, incorporating multidisciplinary methods and drawing from legends and fables across diverse cultures. These narratives not only improve reading comprehension but also contribute to a broader cultural awareness.

Our exploration of the Indonesian language continues to deepen in Class Four.  We'll build upon our existing knowledge by expanding our vocabulary and learn more complex grammar. Our focus remains on mastering basic conversational phrases, and we'll also embrace the rich cultural aspects intertwined with the Indonesian language. Throughout this journey, students immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and build a strong foundation in this beautiful language.

Mathematics

Class 4 mathematics focuses on essential skills such as word problems, fractions, long division, averages, and factoring. We prioritize building a strong foundation in multiplication and long division, introducing concepts like fractions, decimals, and measurement. Our curriculum goes beyond traditional teaching by incorporating real-life applications through captivating story problems. As 9-10 year olds at Sun School Bali, we continue to prioritize our mental and physical well-being through Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Building upon our foundation from previous years, we deepen into the practice, exploring postures, āsanas, that add a little bit more challenge both to our bodies and minds. We focus not only on the physical aspects of the poses but also begin to nurture the inquiry into internal sensations and emotions they evoke, learning to cultivate inner strength, resilience, and calmness.
